Monty Betham.

Monty Betham (born March 12, 1978 in Auckland, New Zealand) is a Professional Boxer and former New Zealand rugby league footballer. He played for the New Zealand Warriors in the National Rugby League competition and for the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in the English Superleague.

Betham represented New Zealand in eight tests and also played for Samoa at the 2000 World Cup. His position of choice was at lock but he also played at hooker.

In December 2006 Betham announced his retirement from rugby league in order to pursue a career in boxing.
